Simulation of Absorptive Capacity Impact on the Performance of Project Networks Learning

چکیده
In this paper, a multi-agent simulation model is developed for inter-organizational learning to evaluate the impact of absorptive capacity on learning performance. One of the most important problems on project networks is to understand which innovation has the most benefit on learning and how much it could effect on learning in interorganizational project networks. On the other hand, the ability of a firm to recognize the value of new, external information, assimilate it, and apply it to commercial ends is critical to its innovative capabilities. This capability called a firm's absorptive capacity and it is largely a function of the firm's level of prior related knowledge. It is evaluated which duration will be suitable to repeat innovation not to exceed the limit of absorptive capacity and demonstrate that the duration of innovation due to technological changes in project networks can result on relationally unstable network relationships and productive implementation of networks. These findings are critical to developing a comprehensive understanding of innovation on the learning process in inter-organizational project networks.

Organizational Learning and Knowledge Spillover in Innovation Networks: Agent-Based Approach (Extending SKIN Framework)
In knowledge-based economy, knowledge has a public good and non-rivalry nature. Firms build their own knowledge stock not only by means of internal R&D and collaboration with partners, but also by means of previously spilled over knowledge of other firms and public research laboratories (such as universities). Firms based on their absorptive capacity, and level of intra-industry and extra-indus...

Objective: The aim of this paper is to propose a new approach to assess the aggregated impact of risks on the completion cost of a construction project. Such an aggregated impact includes the main impacts of risks as well as the impacts of interactions caused by dependencies among them. Methods: In this study, Monte Carlo simulation and Bayesian Networks methods are combined to present a frame...
متن کاملOn the effect of low-quality node observation on learning over incremental adaptive networks
In this paper, we study the impact of low-quality node on the performance of incremental least mean square (ILMS) adaptive networks. Adaptive networks involve many nodes with adaptation and learning capabilities. Low-quality mode in the performance of a node in a practical sensor network is modeled by the observation of pure noise (its observation noise) that leads to an unreliable measurement....
متن کاملSmall-world Networks, Absorptive Capacity, and Firm Performance: Evidence from the U
A small-world network is a locally clustered network with short path lengths connecting different clusters. In this study, we explore contingent factors that affect the impact of small-world networks on firm performance, maintaining that benefits from such networks may depend on a firm’s absorptive capacity to recognize and assimilate external information and knowledge. Using a sample of U.S. v...
